artist biography

Born in 1962 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania - William Kocher is a second-generation artist.  His father, William Adamson Kocher, was a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art in the 1950's, and studied classical realism under Jacques Maroger.

William moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts to study with local painters in 1993 and lived there until 1999.  He began studying open air painting while living on Cape Cod.  In 1999 he returned home to Pennsylvania, studying at the Art Association of Harrisburg, and continues to paint in the open air.
